Cameron Hughes / Lot 230
Chalk Hill Cabernet Sauvignon
Sonoma County 2009
This wine is BIG! Cabernet that almost jumps out of your glass it’s so bold! Cameron Hughes has sourced a few previous wines off this vineyard in Sonoma County, Chalk Hill Appellation, on more than one occasion – I think this has been the best Lot yet!
The wine is pure visual elegance in the glass. Such a beautiful, deep violet that has hints of jammy dark berries and oak on the nose when you swirl it. The taste is wonderful! A great balance of complex fruit; smoke; oak and tannic structure. It is smooth and a lengthy, mouthwatering finish. Leaves you wanting for more!
Cameron Hughes Lot 230 is a “Grand Cab” and a value unlike no other. The winery that previously bought and produced off these same vineyards, sold their Cab for over $50/bottle – you can find the wine via Cameron Hughes website (www.chwine.com) for around $16.00/bottle or look for it at your local Costco stores for a steal at $12.99! This Cabernet gets FOUR BOTTLES for sure, as I already have a case in my cellar (more like 1/2 a case now! LoL) and as I write this, I’m contemplating buying another! It’s that good!
