“…AND THE WINE IS BOTTLED POETRY…”
Another fall day, another chardonnay. Robert Mondavi 2010 Chardonnay from Napa Valley. Robert Mondavi has taken each vintage, year after year, of Napa Valley chardonnay and made them better and better. This 2010 is the best yet. With a light golden yellow hue in the glass and aromas of apple; pineapple and floral notes of rosemary with creamy vanilla…you know its fall in a glass and it’s going to taste good with a warm, comforting meal! Speaking of a comforting meal; I pared this chardonnay with apple wood smoked sausages and roasted butternut squash. It was a perfect match! This wine holds enough fruit forwardness and balanced creaminess that it was spot on. The Robert Mondavi 2010 Chardonnay has very good structure with a bold amount of acidity….toned down by the mouth feel of butter and a little oak. Fantastic chard!
I would definitely rate the Robert Mondavi 2010 Chardonnay with a FOUR BOTTLE Rating. It’s a great everyday white to have on hand for year round sipping. Robert Mondavi sells this wine via online and it can be found at most retailers nationwide for $20.00 per bottle. It’s a wine with style. A name you’ve come to rely on and friends and family would definitely be inclined to share.
Fall is a great time to break out those comfort food recipes and try wine pairings….next time you feel like making homemade macaroni and cheese, have the Robert Mondavi 2010 Napa Valley Chardonnay on hand. I know you’ll love it with the food and you’ll probably find you love it on its own too!
In the words of Robert Mondavi himself: “I say to consumers: instead of relying totally on critics, drink what you like and like what you drink.” ~ I say….words to live by.
