“The Three Step Program”

Swirl; Sniff and Savor.  These are three steps applied to wines that deliver on all three counts. Stepping Stone 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon delivers and it delivers big!

dvinewinetime stepping stone 2010 cabernet sauvignon 1Stepping Stone 2010 Cabernet is a gem.  Flagship Napa Valley Cabernet at incredible value.  Craig Camp and his team know what they are doing when it comes to winemaking, especially with fabulous, lush grapes from Napa Valley.  How they can put such a beautiful Cabernet into a bottle for $35.00 is beyond me…but they do and it pleases this red wine drinker, for sure.

When first poured, the Cabernet glimmers of deep plum red.  After a “swirl” or two you see beautiful, soft edges in the glass. The “sniff” presents plums, cherries and cassis with a slight oaky vanilla. On the tail end, you get a sprinkle of spice and all that’s nice. First sip brings out fruity berries and currants with subtle notes of cranberry.  A smooth, supple texture and a nice bit of oak on the finish allows for you to “savor” the lingering taste of what is Napa Valley Cabernet.  I’m rating this 2010 Stepping Stone Cabernet Sauvignon a FOUR BOTTLE Rating. It’s wonderful, complex and affordable to boot! dvinewinetime stepping stone 2010 cabernet sauvignon 2

Look to Cornerstone’s website http://www.cornerstonecellars.com/  for where you can find this line of Stepping Stone wines and more specifically the 2010 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon.  If you’re unable to find in your neck of the woods, order direct.  This wine is what affordable California winery direct is all about.  This is a case worthy wine for everyday drinking or good enough for special occasions.  It’s part of what makes it so special.

You can take “The Three Step Program” to levels of pure enjoyment with the right wine. Not all wines are created equal, when I drink wine, I’ll be making one of my favorites a Stepping Stone Cabernet!

Cheers!
